The History of Afterglow
I grew up in a small, sleepy suburb of Roanoke, Virginia. After graduating high school, I received a degree in Computer Art and Animation from School of Communication Arts in Raleigh, NC and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Kinetic Imaging from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. I studied animation, photography, cinematography and graphic design (a lot, I know) and was fortunate enough to land a 6-month internship with National Geographic Channel. After working full-time for a few years at a local production studio where I learned first-hand about commercial cinematography, I received an offer from the SPEED channel (now Fox Sports 1) in Charlotte, NC. Working in national television for several years while also running Afterglow, I decided to take the leap and went full-time directing my own business.
I haven't looked back since!
Afterglow was born in Richmond, and after six years in Charlotte, I returned Afterglow home in 2016 after I re-connected with and married the love of my life, Erin. We have an amazing little family of furbabies-- Bear, Sully and Smokey. I am an avid coffee drinker, Carolina Panthers/Chicago Cubs/VCU Rams fan, and could spend all day at the beach sleeping under an umbrella. I found my passion with specifically filming and photographing weddings around 2006, and things haven't slowed down since then. It makes me so happy that you are considering Afterglow Creative for your big day.
Now that you know my story...
Let us tell yours.
